In partnership with Africa Hope Initiatives, Mission Life opened its first Child Hope Center in the rural village of Batima. Batima is located south of Kigali in the Bugasera District. This area is known for seeing very little rainfall which puts a strain on being able to grow crops. Pastor Nicodem and his wife, Therese lead the community here. They have six children of their own and in 2019, they made personal sacrifices to complete renovations to keep their church open. This village really needs our help. Among other things, many of these families can’t afford to send their children to school. Africa Hope Initiatives says it will be a great privilege for our community to have the Child Hope Center to support them with a Christian foundation and give them the opportunity to learn.

Africa Hope Initiatives has developed a comprehensive plan to establish an after-school program called the Child Hope Center in Batima. In partnership with Mission Life, the Child Hope Center will provide the following:

• a daily meal

• Bible lessons

• homework help

• sports

• crafts

• school fees and supplies

All of this, and more, will be provided in a comfortable and safe environment where strong relationships can be formed between children, parents, and educators.
