Nyamata, located in Bugesera District in the Eastern Province, is directly south of Kigali, the national capital. The name Nyamata means "place of milk," and as of 2022, it had a population of 34,922. Currently, the district is also witnessing the construction of a new international airport. Despite this progress, Nyamata is home to many impoverished families who struggle to afford school fees, resulting in many children staying home instead of attending school.

Our vision was to create a space where children could find hope and a brighter future. In partnership with Africa Hope Initiatives, we established the Child Hope Center in Nyamata. This center is dedicated to supporting and uplifting families in need, providing love and encouragement as they work towards a better future.

Together with our dedicated team, we have developed a comprehensive plan to serve 102 children at the Child Hope Center in Nyamata. The program will provide children in this community with access to preschool education and after school activities, and we are in need of people to help us sponsor them. Our on-site team will ensure the children have a safe space where they receive a daily meal, Bible lessons, homework help, and engage in activities such as sports and arts & crafts. Additionally, the program covers school fees and supplies.

This holistic support will be offered in a comfortable and secure environment, fostering strong relationships between children, parents, educators, and sponsors.

Nyamata also holds significant historical importance, with two genocide memorials, including one at the former Roman Catholic Church and the Ntarama genocide memorial. Through our center, we aim to bring hope and healing to a community that has endured so much.
