He Calls You Friend -Devotional

“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.”      -John 15:15

Sweet, sweet child of God let that just soak in deep. Meditate on the fact that Jesus calls you, “friend.” That is a reason for a little dance break right where you are.

What do friends do? They support each other through the challenges of life. They walk mountain top high and valley floor low. A friend is someone you can trust, someone who has your best interest at heart.

Friendship with God goes deeper than a partnership. It is a covenant relationship. You give God your weakness and He gives you his strength. It is a holy exchange that the world can never give. It demands nothing but letting go and trusting.

Let’s breathe deep this promise from Matthew 11:28-30, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Come friend, to the Lord. Receive rest, wisdom, and strength. Allow Him to refresh and restore as only He can. You are His friend. You are invited, welcomed, wanted by the maker of heaven and earth. He is calling you friend and inviting you to come.
