Angel Galvis Officially Steps into CEO Role as Mission Life’s First Paid Employee
Mission Life is thrilled to officially hire Founder Angel Galvis as the organization’s CEO and first paid employee! It is a very proud moment for our organization as we acknowledge Angel for all of his hard work over the last three years to bring the organization to where it is today. Galvis left his job as a financial advisor in June of 2018 to pursue God’s vision for his life to establish Mission Life Inc. to help children in need in his native country of Colombia.
Since then, Mission Life has grown quickly as a revolutionary child sponsorship organization with multiple child development centers in Colombia, Rwanda and Guatemala allowing sponsor families to develop meaningful relationships with their children through video messaging on the Mission Life APP. The organization has also developed partnerships with local churches and businesses.
Earlier this year, we partnered with Colombian farmers to create Mission Life Cafecito, a specialty Colombian coffee. Through our global initiatives and a Service-Learning Project with local students, all proceeds help children in need as well as Colombian farmer families. Mission Life also recently announced a partnership with Manchester Christian Church in New Hampshire and Vermont to lead its global outreach and mission trips beginning in 2022. The organization will also be hosting its first annual Charity Golf Tournament on September 18th. There’s even more exciting developments in the works to empower children here in the U.S. to create positive change and we are thrilled to have Angel’s leadership at the helm.
Read Angel’s thoughts on stepping into his new, paid role as Mission Life’s CEO:
“It is a symbol of God’s grace and love that he always provides for the purpose he has for all of our lives. When I left my career as a financial advisor, I had no guarantees of any financial security or any guarantees the program will grow the way it has. I only had Jesus’ promise that this was his calling for my life.
The other day I was having a conversation with my family, who to this day, cannot believe one would leave a career with the security of a paycheck and spend all of his savings to obey God’s call to start a non-profit organization.
The funny thing is, today, I not only get to apply all the experiences and knowledge I received through my professional years for Mission Life, but I also, through God’s grace, get to lead an organization at only 40 years of age.
All along the way I saw God’s hands acting to make things happen for Mission Life and for my life. As I step into this role officially I realize that I have been preparing for this moment my whole life. Professionally, spiritually, emotionally, and physically, I have been working to grow to be a leader worth following.
With God’s direction, I am excited and determined to lead our Mission Life team and accomplish its vision to help children realize God’s mission for their lives.”
