Fix Your Eyes - Devotional

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” - 2 Corinthians 4:18

Our focus matters.  What are we looking at?  What do we see?  What we can see with our natural eye can seem real, big and often scary.  Put on your eyes of faith to see beyond what the natural eye sees.   Look beyond what is seen to see what is true.

There is always more: more grace, more mercy, more strength and more hope for the one willing to see beyond and look straight into the unseen.

Life will always bring you two choices: the temporary and the eternal. God will always give you the power to decide your destiny.

Growth and character will be built and strengthened through times of uneasiness and uncertainty.  We will see beyond what is before us and the word and promises of God will guarantee us peace that passes understanding.

We are never told that life will be easy, that the one who follows God will not face struggle and hardship. We are simply told the beautiful truth that we will not face it alone, that we can look deeper and see a hope that never fails, a love that never ends and a mercy that is new each morning.

The word tells us, “It was by faith that Moses left the land of Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger.   He kept right on going because he kept his eyes fixed on the one who is invisible.” (Hebrews 11:27)

Won’t you join me in walking by faith, with eyes fixed on the one who is invisible?
