Empowering Children to Lead in Villavicencio
Written by: Heidi Lough
Villavicencio, Colombia, was the talk of the town this month as the Seeds of Life center, Mission Life’s partner, sponsored Children’s Day! The celebration consisted of choreographed dances and singing games that were created and directed by the children that attend the center. They were performed in the streets for all to hear. Older children put together a unique dance for the younger children to represent Jesus’s request in Matthew 19:14 that states: “Let the little children come to me.”
Despite the drab weather, the event was wildly successful with over 50 children in attendance with an outpouring of singing and joy into the surrounding streets and among the parents of the performers. This was a gift to this neighborhood and it was made possible through your generous giving and sponsorships.
Author Jess Lair states, “Children are not things to be molded, but people to be unfolded.” What a blessing for these children to have Jesus unfolding them with grace, love and truth in their journey!
