Learning Valuable Skills at the New Storefront in Colombia
Mission Life is excited to share pictures from the new bakery storefront, Formipan at Fundacion Formavida in Colombia! It is because of generous donations from our sponsors that our children and youth there are learning the valuable life skills of baking! Today it is delicious cookies but they are also learning how to make bread. The proceeds from selling products at the storefront go right back to the center for even more programs.
“Glory to God! Sending a big hug and many blessings for helping us build Formipan,” says Lucy Lancheros, the founder of Fundacion Formavida.
This is a dream come true for Formavida and the children. Unlike the U.S. where it is ordinary to sit together in our kitchens and bake with our families, it is a luxury in Colombia and not a reality in this area of Bogota.
Bakeries are very popular in Colombia so learning how to bake will pay off for these kiddos when they grow up. Learning a new skill not only builds confidence but for these young passionate bakers, It could also turn into a life-long career. We can’t wait to see!
