Celebrating Donna Miller’s dedication and commitment to Mission Life.

At Mission Life, we always talk about God’s purpose for our lives. It is our vision statement: to help children realize their mission in life. It also applies to the rest of us. Life purpose comes in many forms and often it changes over time. We can always trust that God will let us know where we are needed next.

With that said, we recently celebrated and honored the hard work and dedication of one of our founding members, Donna Miller who is being called to move on to her next chapter.

In the very early days of forming Mission Life, when our Founder and CEO, Angel Galvis secured the 501-C3 non-profit status for the organization, Donna Miller was on her own mission to help women and children in need in Rwanda.

At our celebration, Angel told us the story of how they met through a mutual church friend, Bruce Southerland.

“He said you should meet this lady at the church, Donna. She’s trying to start a non-profit. So, I walked into her office and I told her let me know if there’s anything I can help with. After talking for a bit, she said, ‘Why reinvent the wheel. Can we just join you?’ and I said, sure,” says Angel.

Together, Mission Life established a partnership with Africa Hope Initiatives in Rwanda’s capital and Mission Life opened the first Child Hope Center.

“With your dedication, with your perseverance, with your diligence, with all of the stuff you’ve gone through this year, I don’t know where I would have been, or any of us, or the organization, if it weren’t for all that you’ve done,” Angel Says.

Donna spent countless hours building some of Mission Life’s core programs from the ground up. If it weren’t for her, we wouldn’t have the child sponsorship program we have today. Her work in volunteer recruitment and training has also been critical. Her patience and dedication to teach volunteers is greatly appreciated.

“God has given me the ability to embrace what he has next. On my couch I probably have 7 or 8 books. I’m getting prepared for this next season and it will be a season of spiritual companionship for women. That’s what I’m going to be doing,” Donna says.

We are excited for you Donna and like everything else you have done, we know your work will be appreciated by many! We love you and we wish you the very best!
