Seek Him

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).

Seeking with your whole heart is the beautiful place of finding. Seek Him knowing that He will be found. Seek not doubting. Seek with confidence. He is not hiding, and He is longing to connect with you eternally.

We can’t put Jesus in our “box” of how we think He should be. Who would have thought the Messiah would come and be found in a manger. A helpless baby -- our Savior king. The question is the same for us today as it was so long ago for the shepherds. Will we recognize Him?

There are no requirements to our seeking. We can seek and He will be found everywhere. You can seek Him in a crowd, you can seek Him in the quiet. You can seek Him in the prison cell and you can seek Him in the palace. You can seek Him in a bar and the back of your car. You can seek Him in the church and the grocery store. He is Emmanuel -- He is God with us. So seek Him everywhere and anywhere.

Don’t be discouraged or dismayed by your situation or circumstance. Nothing is too big and no place too far that His grace won’t reach. If He saw and heard Jonah in the belly of a whale at the bottom of the deep dark sea, rest assured friend. He sees and hears you, too.

He is God and He is always drawing us to His side. He paints the sky and colors the fields with amazing beauty. Genesis 1 sings of His creation and provision -- He is a generous God. “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it.” He provides for us because He was first to seek us out.

So let’s run to our Father as the prodigal son ran to his in Luke 15. The same overwhelming joy and pure holy love will run right back to us as seek to find. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.”

The father in the parable was looking for his son. The son was seeking the father. So much more our heavenly Father longs to find us seeking and finding him.
