Building Walls of Love in Villavicencio

“And my God will supply all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 4:19

While one of our newest centers in Colombia waits for God’s provision for a bigger space to operate, the family who leads the ministry in Villavicencio is coming together to provide a temporary solution.

At the end of May, our center director, Nidia Pencue’s father, approved plans to build a classroom on the current property, which is also his home. The program currently operates there in a designated worship space. He is retired now but he and his wife were pastors of a church for years.

After prayer and collaboration, and by the grace of God, the church, family and friends joined efforts to start building the walls for the classroom. Eventually they will add a roof, flooring and paint to complete the project. Tables and chairs are ready to be used.

“The classroom will give the children the organization they need to focus and grow in their learning,” Nidia says.

Nidia knows doing God’s work to build a program from the ground up takes time and she is faithful that once the program becomes more sustainable the center’s goal to provide even more academic support and discipleship will be achieved.

“The ultimate goal and God’s dream is to find an affordable property to build classrooms to better support the children’s learning and separate the different age groups. However, we are beyond grateful for the mountains God has moved to allow even just one classroom for the different activities,” Nidia says.

We are beyond grateful for the incredible kindness of Nidia’s family and everyone who has willingly donated materials, time, and money to help change the lives of the children. God’s hands are unmistakably everywhere in the project and we are excited to see how He will continue to bless this center.
