A Message from Angel Galvis, Mission Life Founder and CEO

“Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.”  -Proverbs 22:6

Our capability to love is often molded by our experience of love. We usually love others as we have been loved. This experience is first learned at home with our parents, the beginning of every child’s education.

In my experience, children who have not experienced that love are not able to reference it or carry it out themselves. Directing them onto the right path is not necessarily a promise but a general truth. It is a responsibility for us as adults to live our lives modeling godly values and principles to inspire children to live a godly lifestyle.

For children who are living in a less than ideal family setting, a sponsor becomes that influential figure. They’re like a big brother or sister, or a “Padrino” (Godfather) or “Madrina” (Godmother) which is also the meaning of sponsor in Spanish.  A God-given parent is someone who cares to take a role in leading them to a healthy lifestyle.

In fact, the whole focus of this proverb is on the parent, not the child. And so for all of those men who are dedicated to leading children on the path of healthy growth in Christ, Happy Father's Day.
