“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” (Jeremiah 29:11).

Such an exciting promise. And when we don’t see this promise rushing in and our days don’t look like this promise, we tend to wonder. What is wrong? Why am I not walking in this good plan? Why do I see struggle? Why do bad things happen to good people? Our hearts ask, “Where is God in my pain?”

He is there, friend. He is the “friend who sticks closer than a brother” (Proverbs 18:24).

We think it would somehow be easier to quit or simply walk away. It is always bigger than we think. We look at a given moment -- the right now of a situation -- and walk. The valley is too deep, the hill is too high and the walk is so long that we think it’s easier to quit and walk away.

This is only temporary relief; short-term satisfaction. We need to trust in God. If we will believe His plan is better and right, we will walk with Him and not walk away Him. We will eventually see God’s biggest and best plans unfold before us.

The valley floor will open wide to the wonderful wonder of God. You will experience so much more than you could ever hope for. God’s plan for your good was written long before you were born. So don’t grow weary. He sees you, He hears you and He is making a way for you -- right through your valley. The way into the promise is often through what we do not understand. Walking by faith through the pain and the heartbreak with your eyes fixed on the one you cannot see.

So don’t give up and don’t give in. Don’t listen to the lie that says that promise is not for you, that you are not good enough. Keep walking, child of God. His promises -- all of His promises -- are for you.
