As a child growing up I dreamed of having the opportunity of becoming what I dreamed of. At 15 years of age, when my dad told me he did not have the resources to help me get an education, I felt devastated, especially in a country like Colombia where the opportunities are so much more limited for those without one.

The pandemic changed everything about our lives. It wiped out structure, routines and it challenged our decision making. It was the same for our Mission Life Child Development Centers. Everyone was forced to get used to a new way of living and families used to meeting up outside were told to stay indoors cutting off communication. The kids weren’t able to come to the centers regularly and our teachers had to find new ways to connect to continue to serve their needs such as home visits.
